Tuesday, 9feb16 - DBQ on Mexican War + Online Simulation on Oregon Trail

Please cooperate with the substitute today, students.

We will continue our study of Manifest Destiny.

1. DBQ-Mexican War: As a followup to yesterday's excellent debate, do the Document Analysis-Mexican War.

• Follow the directions on the Word document.
• Submit your finished product to me either as a Dropbox link to the Word document in Dropbox or as an email attachment.
• It's due tomorrow (Wednesday).
• You will work on it for approximately 45 minutes in class & finish it at home.

2. We will then shift focus to another major topic under the heading of Manifest Destiny: Oregon

• Read the Online U. S. History Textbook Summary - Oregon (54° 40' or Fight)

• Then do The Oregon Trail Simulation.
• I tried the Oregon Trail Simulation, and it's pretty cool. It was an early online learning activity but still gives you an idea of some of the challenges facing the hardy pioneers who traveled west.
• If you want to do it with a partner, that's fine.
• No one should have to work alone. 
• You may encounter a few computer difficulties, but try to work through them.
• Do not do any of the other simulations, unless they have to do with the Oregon Trail.
