Yearbook Pictures + Day 1 of War of 1812 Debate

Today the 6th & 7th Graders:

• Spent the first half of the period getting their yearbook pictures taken
• Debated effectively and vigorously the question, "Was it right for the United States to fight in the War of 1812?"

Assignments for Thursday:

1. Look back over the notes you took during the debate today and revise, if necessary, your strategies and arguments for Day 2 of the debate. Work online or onphone or onwhatever with your teammates.
2. Be sure you particularly understand and are prepared to debate the specific cause you chose to argue in the debate. (Causes tomorrow: British Indian Policy on U. S. Western Frontier, War Hawks' Attempts to Seize Canada, Southern War Hawks' Strategy to Seize Florida from Spain
